Another thing to try. If you have 5G or so spare HD space (maybe even on another drive):
- loop mount the DVD image (as root: mount -o loop,ro image.iso mountpoint)
- copy the contents to HD, ideally in a place that will be easy to specify (see below) (such such as /data)
I meant to say here - of course this needs to be on a partition that won't be deleted during the installation. Another argument for having /home in its own partition.
- Boot from the NET / MINI CD and try 'Hard Disc' as installation source.
I haven't used this approach recently but it *used to* work OK ;-)
