Interesting dave... when I checked today, in Factory was no longer the rc5 kernel, but the final 2.6.27. I'm pretty sure you still have the url pointing to download.opensuse.org/distribution/... which is no longer maintained... (according news.o.o)...

I downloaded the packages needed fresh today and installed from a local repository with a kernel I could trust. During my last upgrade from repository factory, there was no kernel to match the sources and syms.
