Hello,
I just wanted to copy the kernel configuration file (/boot/config-2.6.25.4-10-default) from the latest factory kernel to my own kernel. So I downloaded
http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/SL-OSS-factory/inst-source/suse/i5...
rpm --checksig /tmp/kernel-default-2.6.25.4-10.i586.rpm kernel-default-2.6.25.4-10.i586.rpm: (sha1) dsa sha1 md5 gpg OK
I am using openSUSE 10.3. Are the RPM tools of openSUSE 10.3 incapable to read openSUSE 11/factory rpm packages? I saw on http://en.opensuse.org/Factory/News#Changes_between_openSUSE_11.0_Alpha_3_an... that openSUSE factory now uses RPM files with LZMA payload. Could this be the reason?
Yes. You can for instance install the RPM from Factory too to get the kernel extracted.
