Once again, I updated my iBook (G3, 900 MHz, 640 MB) and it basically works (Gnome desktop):
ke@linux-iuuz:~> cat /proc/cpuinfo processor : 0 cpu : 750FX temperature : 0-9 C (uncalibrated) clock : 400.000000MHz revision : 2.3 (pvr 7000 0203) bogomips : 22.01 timebase : 24835245 platform : PowerMac machine : PowerBook4,3 motherboard : PowerBook4,3 MacRISC2 MacRISC Power Macintosh detected as : 257 (iBook 2 rev. 2) pmac flags : 0000001b L2 cache : 512K unified pmac-generation : NewWorld
Two issues I do not like:
1/ During the update, it still destroy my dual-boot setup. It still forgets to keep or add such two lines in lilo.conf:
other = /dev/hda9 label = macos
2/ Even if the load is just 0.03, the area next to the touchpad stays rather hot. Is this where the HD is located?
I'm wondering what might be the best way to enable powermanagement on the iBook?
3/ Sound does not seem to work. If I insert an audio CD, Banshee gets started, but it does not play the music. -- Karl Eichwalder R&D / Documentation SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, GF: Markus Rex, HRB 16746 (AG Nuernberg) --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org
