Unfortunately KDE4 won't reach production-ready stage in the following months.
Could you tell me next week's lotto numbers also please? :-) You could join the opensuse-kde mailinglist and discuss your problems. Maybe they can be solved, and maybe solutions already exist that you don't know about. I _do_ support the suggestion to make KDE3 an (easy) choice during dvd/network installation at the System Type selection step. We have so many options there already that one additional option wouldn't hurt. The description there could have the appropriate "warnings" regarding KDE4.x. If resources allow it a separate KDE3 cd might make sense too. But, noone's forcing anyone to install 11.0 at all. If KDE4.x is not good enough for you, and if it's too difficult to manually select the patterns to install kde3 instead of kde4, you could just skip this release and be happy. Fedora 9 ships KDE4.0 only (with kde3 apps and libs but no full desktop) and their policy is "if you don't think kde4.0 is ready, shut up and skip a release". There are some rumours that the release cycle until 11.1 will be a short one anyway. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org
