Hello again
When I boot 10.3 b2, openSUSE Updater runs and after alot of hd activity the
"openSUSE Updater window" pops up and sayes...
Error building the cache database
SQL logic error or missing database
Disabling
Repostory 'http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/openSUSE:10.3/standard'
because of the above error
...
This is most likely a bug because when I run openSUSE Updater and select "Add/Remove Update
Sources" I see that 'http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/openSUSE:10.3/standard' is
not enabled.
Note : When I select Configure I can see "Backend : ZYpp Backend "
In the end I selected the option "don't refresh on startup" or something like that and
openSUSE Updater no longer appears in the Main Panel but I would like to know if there are
any work arounds or alternative solutions/rpm that I can play with in order to get openSUSE
Updater working better ?
Question:
What is the best (or recommanded or offical) in a beta sort of way of keeping up to date
with the lastest factory rpms?
Options are smart, yast2 with extra internet sources, zypper or ?
please comment on which best applies here in a factory context.
I ask because I normally use smart and add urls like this:
smart channel --add "Packman 3rd Party Package Repository" type=rpm-md \
baseurl=http://packman.inode.at/suse/10.3
TIA
Regards
James
