Are you serious? You really believe ext3 is obsolete? That seems odd, given how widely used it is. Even FAT is not obsolete and it's archaic. Perhaps you mean "obsolescent?" I.e., in the process of becoming obsolete but not yet there.
Anyway, could you clarify this statement?
I believe ext3 is obsolete, because it resembles the old times, when I power on the computer to send a email, and I have only 5 minutes to leave my house, and the system just this day uses 15 minutes for the montly fsck. With Reiserfs I forgot completely this problem, and the system is usable any time I need it. For a desktop computer, I mean that ext3 is not a better option than reiserfs. Ext3 is retro.
