ftp://mirrors.kernel.org/pub/opensuse/distribution/SL-OSS-factory/inst-source/boot

You don't need it. Just add a stanza to /boot/grub/menu.lst and put these
where grub can find them with appropriate kernel parameters:
ftp://mirrors.kernel.org/pub/opensuse/distribution/SL-OSS-factory/inst-source/boot/i386/loader/linux
ftp://mirrors.kernel.org/pub/opensuse/distribution/SL-OSS-factory/inst-source/boot/i386/loader/initrd
