I installed the new updates from yesterday. Now update-status is running all the time and consumes about 80-100% CPU. Installing two packages with YaST took 15 minutes on an athlon 1,4 GHz with 256 MByte RAM.
Did anybody else also have this regression? Are PCs with less than 512 MByte RAM supposed to work with SL 10.2?
Does it stop if you leave it alone for a while?
Yes it does. The problem is, that after login not only zmd, but also beagled starts. For a 256 MByte-machine this is too much I guess.
Also adding an installation source with 20 (!) packages takes 4 minutes in YaST.
