Before reboot you could extract the binaries from the initrd (or whatever is it now), and see if they also crash in the running system. Trying a "chrooted ldd" in these binaries might reveal interesting facts ;-)
Unfortunately, I can't do that right now, because I removed the raid configuration (it's my personal computer, so raid is not necessarily). I will make it again when Beta4 will be out. Also, can you give me some more details about the debugging and rescue procedure? I don't have any experience with this because I didn't need to do something similar until now.
