Hi Packagers :-)
I think we could benefit a lot from the current susehelp system if we use it to integrate the package documentation into it.
All what has to be done for this is: 1) create/reuse a desktop file containing: DocPath=
X-DOC-Weight=<order-number> (and for packages comming with html docs and no inline viewer in the application itself for example: Exec=susehelp ) 2) create a directory in /usr/share/susehelp/meta/<packagename>
3) place the desktop file in this directory
Result: People starting susehelp (KDE- or GNOME-Helpcenter) will see a link to the package documentation.
What do you think about this?
With kind regards, Lars
I agree, certainly less work than trying to create or include program documentation in our work. Which I think is beyond the scope of collecting educational software to redistribute in tested SuSE installable format. -- James Tremblay Volunteer openSIS Product Specialist http://www.os4ed.com e-mail james "at" os4ed.com e-mail sleducator "at" opensuse.org CNE 3,4,5 MCSE w2k CLE in training Registered Linux user #440182 http://en.opensuse.org/education
