Why is it looking for a host called tftp?
Lets check the docs... nope nothing in there.....
It looks for tftp server, if it cant find, it take dhcpd server as a tftp server and continues from there.
it is trying to ping tftp - but it can't resolv it, and i don't know why as everything else can. "can assign SERVER IP/name rebooting" - It then craps up and after 120 sec it resets, been doing that for a while now. Any way to pass that info in through grub?
Check the firewall on the LTSP server. Chect /etc/xinet.d/tftpd, it should be pointing to /srv/tftpboot.
yep - thats all fine, turned all security off to see if that did anything... Will need a list of port at some point for the firewalls.
DHCP, TFTP and LTSP servers should be running on one server, and there should not be any other dhcpd running in the network.
which it is. Test env is the ltsp and a box on a network on its own - no joy Real env there going to be a DHCP out of our control, thats why I want to use something like grub netboot or usb etc... Off to lunch.
