I can't telnet or start an Xsession from a client (PC runing Xserver).
Didn't have a problem with this - our LTSP boxes kept working.
I can't telnet either - and I looked at hosts.allow and uncommented the line in.telnetd which I thought should have allowed all remote hosts....but the message on the telnet client is that the connection was closed by the remote.
Is inetd running? I think it won't be by default.
Yes, you need to run inetd and I can telnet ok but ..........
OK - I started inetd. BUT I STILL CAN'T telnet. Connection closed by remote/foreign host message at client end. Clicked the box in YAST2 to allow graphical XDM remote access - but still can't connect a remote X session either. Still....squid works OK.
I can't ftp with Suse 8.0. I've enabled ftp in inet.conf but the daemon doesn't seem to be running ie I can't see it after a ps x. What am I missing?
