What sort of hardware spec are your client machines - esp RAM and processor?
They are Pentium 166 with 64Mb RAM. The server is a P133 with 96Mb of RAM so isn't terribly powerful. I guess the server based install will be best bet, stick a DVD drive in there and should be able to do everything. "Robert J Gautier" <rjg@ateb.co.uk> wrote:
SystemImager is very good at building and maintaining lots of identical machines -- IMHO it solves a lot more of the problem than KickStart. See: http://systemimager.org/
That sounds interesting, I'll have to give that a whirl. Okay, so I think my first step should be to install Linux on the old server, then try and set up a workstation I guess (to create an image). Browsing should be fulfilled by Netscape - can't see the teachers and kids going for lynx so some kind of desktop probably needed, any recommendations on that front for an easy life? -- Glenn Cameron King Henry VIII School, Coventry
