My squid proxy has gone south on me and nothing seems to bring it back. I even went to the extreme of re-installing SuSE7 (while saving the squid.conf file) and it still will not work. I have tried to log on (we are using
Without being able to see what is in your squid.conf it's doubtful anyone could do much.

Have you tried configuring lynx just to use the Dialnet proxy and seeing if that works. (Using the same address and port as is in /etc/squid.conf.)
