My name is Durant Haire and I am interested in writing/editing for the project. I'm new to Linux, but not to writing. I have a B.A. degree in English, journalism experience (both writing and copy editing), and I'm currently employed as a technical writer for one of the world's largest "big box" retailers. I edit and rewrite instruction manuals for product that is sold under our proprietary brands. I'm located in North Carolina, USA.
We will soon (before the end of the year) announce the "Lessons for Lizard" (LfL) project. It is a community cookbook-style book project for the openSUSE distribution. The texts are written in DocBook XML but for people with less experience in XML you can also write in pure ASCII. Someone (the community or the documentation department) have to transcript it into XML so we can create HTML and PDF of it. If you want to contribute to LfL you can write new texts, improve existing documents, ... Hope this helps. If you have any further questions feel free to ask. :-) Bye, Tom -- Thomas Schraitle ---------------------------------------------------------------------- SUSE LINUX GmbH >o) Documentation Specialist Maxfeldstrasse 5 /\\ 90409 Nuernberg _\_v http://en.opensuse.org/Documentation_Team --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-doc+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-doc+help@opensuse.org
