Ich vermute, dass du diesen Eintrag bootest!
Sichere mal die menu.lst und reduziere sie auf: [...] bootet er dann?
Nur falls es immer noch nicht geht: entferne das vga=normal und das splash=silent. Was passiert dann?
Ein info grub bring nach kurzer Suche: 27 : Unrecognized command This error is returned if an unrecognized command is entered on the command-line or in a boot sequence section of a configuration file and that entry is selected.
Ich vermute dagegen, dass die "kernel" Zeile in seinem Failsafe Eintrag nicht in einer Zeile steht, sondern es tatsaechlich zwei sind. Leider hatte Stefan die /boot/grub/menu.lst nicht attached, sondern per Cut&Paste in seiner e-mail untergebracht; darin war das Folgende dann aber auf zwei Zeilen, statt in einer, wie es sein sollte: kernel /boot/vmlinuz root=/dev/hda6 vga=normal showopts ide=nodma apm=off acpi=off noresume nosmp noapic maxcpus=0 edd=off 3 Stefan, lade die Datei mal in Deinem Lieblings-Editor und sorge dafuer, dass diese Zeile tatsaechlich *kein* Newline enthaelt.
