Re: [opensuse-buildservice] [help]how to local build XX-32bit rpm on a x86_64 machine?

Quoting Jun Hu <jhu_com@xxxxxxx>:

Hi Guys:

I want to build a zlib-devel-32bit rpm (for example:
zlib-devel-32bit-1.2.7-7.1.x86_64.rpm ) , I have known I can build
it successfully via OBS website , choosing the repositiory i586 ,
the build log is as follows:

[ 36s] build: extracting built packages...
[ 36s] libz1-1.2.7-7.1.i586.rpm
[ 36s] zlib-devel-1.2.7-7.1.i586.rpm
[ 36s] zlib-devel-static-1.2.7-7.1.i586.rpm
[ 36s] libz1-32bit-1.2.7-7.1.x86_64.rpm
[ 36s] zlib-devel-32bit-1.2.7-7.1.x86_64.rpm
[ 36s] zlib-devel-static-32bit-1.2.7-7.1.x86_64.rpm
[ 36s] zlib-1.2.7-7.1.src.rpm
[ 36s] _statistics

but if using local build , I found it can't generate the rpm by
command "osc build i586" or "osc build "

osc build -b i586

(as pointed out in the mailing list, -b instructs build to process baselibs.conf and create multi-arch RPMs. The speciality is that you have to do this during the build of the 'target' arch of the binaries, not of where the RPMs will be used (so for i586, not for x86_64). Reason being that it's just a second RPM created from the same build binaries.
