I'm the "official" RPM package maintainer of the Ganglia project (of course each distro have their own packages, but I maintain the "official" one, or at least the one which you can download at SourceForge). I have been talking to Marcus (darix) about setting up a group for these kind of packages, but more so for HPC related programs like parallel libraries, schedulers, etc. (I'm also involved with the OSCAR project). Well, just like kismet, IMHO sflowtool and softflowd could also reside on somethink like "network:monitoring" or "network:security", because they're not specific for server use (well, "cactid" should also go into "network:monitoring").
Yes. My previous mail said exactly that :-) I dont think network:security is appropriate as flow programs are more about monitoring.. Not really security..
BTW, there's no such project called "network:monitoring".
Yes. Maybe there should be though. I created network:aaa yesterday, as I figured we really needed a "network" namespace in addition to "server".
