Dr. Werner Fink
The issue seems to have been some missing generated files after installation; possibly some post-generation scripts were not run correctly.
Indeed there had been always some users which reports about such problems, but I was never able to reproduce this. This is the reason why there exists an option `force' for the update script. The same update script is used in the %posttrans scriplets if one of the tag files exist: /var/run/texlive/run-mktexlsr /var/run/texlive/run-hyphen /var/run/texlive/run-fmtutil.language /var/run/texlive/run-fmtutil /var/run/texlive/run-fmtutil.refresh /var/run/texlive/run-update and those are touched in the various %postinstall and %postuninstall scriptlets. This mechanism makes sure that the update is only done once in an update session. See, e.g. rpm -q --scripts texlive
This may be due to the ordering of the packages I installed, or a more general phenomenon. Is there anything else I can do to help debug this?
