Can confirm this bug for several of my "zypper dup" updated boxes from 42.3 to
15.0
This is rather annoying and I need to start yast2 or other tools needing root
permission like gsmartcontrol via konsole.
On this box I'm creating this bug-report from - another update from 42.3 to
openSUSE 15.1 - I can see this behavior even worse: Other than with 15.0 even
"su -" isn't working on konsole, but I have to use "ssh -X -l root localhost"
to get root permissions somewhere in my KDE environment.
Any version of su (sudo, su -, kdesu, you-name-it) isn't working, ether on
desktop icons nor konsole.
With the virtual consoles via F-keys root login works flawlessly, like the ssh
trick.
And with one more box, an update with "zypper dup" from 42.3 to 15.1 solved
this problem afterwards surprisingly.
I can confirm all the reproducing steps Ted reported before:
I got the same output on konsole mentioning "kdesu_stub". strace didn't bring
up any useful hints to solve the problem. Same when trying to strace the not
working "su -"
Thanks for looking into this...
Ralf
