http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1087753 Bug ID: 1087753 Summary: Dovecot fails to start, complaining "Can't open log file /var/log/dovecot.log: Permission denied" Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Tumbleweed Version: Current Hardware: Other OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: AppArmor Assignee: suse-beta@cboltz.de Reporter: psychonaut@nothingisreal.com QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- After upgrading from Tumbleweed 20180308 to Tumbleweed 20180331 today, the Dovecot service now refuses to start. The error message is "Can't open log file /var/log/dovecot.log: Permission denied". I tried twiddling the permissions on that file, but no luck. On account of Bug 1069470 and a similar problem report at https://serverfault.com/questions/903204/dovecot-cant-open-log-after-upgrade I suspect this may be a problem with AppArmor. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
