exclamation mark? It should be a question mark.
I'm sure it was an exclamation mark, and the systemctl output only went as far as saying
manager: NetworkManager state is now CONNECTED_SITE
but stopped there, the state never changed to CONNECTED_GLOBAL - despite being able to browse normally.
The expected result should be no popup appears.
I had not turned off the notifications - it was a new install, but with a few different wifi networks all producing the little orange bang to make me realise (think?) that the inaccurate status reports weren't going away on their own (or so I thought). In the meantime, I switched to wicked, and now when I switched back to NM to respond, I cannot reproduce the error. Even reverting NetworkManager.conf back to
