With today's Leap 42.3 beta, my laptop's wifi chip is not recognised. It worked
with the previous Leap 42.3 beta driver. I am using the broadcom drivers from
the packman repository.

dmesg shows

so the module is loading into the kernel; just not seeing the wifi chip and
adding it to the list of networks that the KDE network chooser can select.
