Yes, we should rephrase it as we can't kill PK. We can just ask PK via DBus to quit ASAP.

Don't know what PK is doing exactly, but it holds the lock for 50 min. It requested the installation of 354 packages in 'DownloadOnly' mode. Looks like PK is about to perform an update too.
It's gnome-settings-daemon's updates plugin that call PK. It checks whether there is any update available and download those packages. And then a notification saying "Updates Available" will pop up. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
