Bug ID: 1041078
Summary: Memory leak in the Digital Clock widget when the PIM
plugin is enabled
Classification: openSUSE
Product: openSUSE Tumbleweed
Version: Current
Hardware: x86-64
OS: Other
Status: NEW
Severity: Critical
Priority: P5 - None
Component: KDE Workspace (Plasma)
Assignee: opensuse-kde-bugs@xxxxxxxxxxxx
Reporter: noahadvs@xxxxxxxxx
QA Contact: qa-bugs@xxxxxxx

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:54.0) Gecko/20100101
Firefox/54.0
Build Identifier:

If I enable the PIM plugin in the settings of the digital clock widget, a
massive memory leak occurs when I click apply. The leak stops if I restart
plasmashell, but clicking on the widget to bring up the calendar triggers the
leak again.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go to Digital Clock Settings->Calendar and enable the PIM Events Plugin
2. Click Apply

Or, after the first two steps are done and plasma is restarted

1. Click the Digital Clock widget to bring up the calendar
Actual Results:
plasmashell freezes, all of my RAM and Swap are rapidly consumed by plasmashell
and the calendar is not drawn

Expected Results:
It should not leak memory and display PIM events in the calendar part of the
widget

Here is the output when I activate the bug while running plasmashell from the
terminal:
