Bug ID: 1038259
Summary: No gnome shell extensions installation from
extensions.gnome.org
Classification: openSUSE
Product: openSUSE Distribution
Version: Leap 42.2
Hardware: x86-64
OS: Other
Status: NEW
Severity: Normal
Priority: P5 - None
Component: GNOME
Assignee: bnc-team-gnome@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Reporter: gtettamanzi@xxxxxxxxx
QA Contact: qa-bugs@xxxxxxx
Found By: ---
Blocker: ---

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36
(KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/57.0.2987.133 Safari/537.36
Build Identifier:

There's no way to install Gnome shell extensions from the official gnome site
because the chrome-gnome-shell package isn't in the official Leap 42.2 repos.

Workarounds:

* compiling extensions from source (tested - mostly from github)
* installing the rpm from one of the home: projects in the OBS (didn't test)
* downloading and installing the Tumbleweed official rpm (it works)

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. install the appropriate extension on Firefox (Gnome shell integration)
2. point Firefox to extensions.gnome.org
3. check if you can install an extension out
Actual Results:
Installation of extensions from extensinos.gnome.org NOT allowed

Expected Results:
Installation of extensions from extensinos.gnome.org

I do not find the chrome-gnome-shell package in 42.3 repos, I guess there's the
same issue in the upcoming release.
