OK, on openSUSE Tumbleweed with Gnome 3.22 this is *partially* fixed. Now
there is a new bug where Nautilus is showing a narrow vertical white fringe
on the extreme right vertical side of the screen. Look closely at the
attached screenshot. The fringe goes away when desktop icons are disabled.


By chance I stumbled on this bug again and since I still have the numix theme
files installed I tried to reproduce and it's still working just fine for me.

Hence I'll close this as worksforme, and encourage anyone who still have issues
to file them upstream/update already active bug upstream.
