Screenshot showing "?" icon for wifi when I am fully connected

I am at a place right now where I have to use a proxy to connect to the
network. I find that both the wired and wifi icons in the top-bar remain in the
"?" state indicating limited connectivity, although I am fully connected to the
network and am actually writing this bug report, for instance ;)

This isn't a gnome-shell problem, but more of an NM problem, because I also
find nmcli thinks the connectivity is limited (it is not):

:~> nmcli g
STATE CONNECTIVITY WIFI-HW WIFI WWAN-HW WWAN
connected (site only) limited enabled enabled enabled enabled

Perhaps something to do with the portal capture check that NM now does?
