I've also had the chance to see this in Leap 42.2 Linux 4.4.36-8-default as
well.

auth "hmac(sha256)" puts 128 bits in the ICV (AH Length: 0x18), but the output
of ip xfrm is,

auth-trunc hmac(sha256)
0xe53dfc92895d46674175e9c75d1ee9d327967d12f61550df79d5c9dab2567604 96
