(In reply to Rich Coe from comment #4)
I don't recall having KAlarm on or installed when I reported this bug.
I did find a work-around.
If the taskbar is showing, click on the KAlarm icon (it might be in the
hidden/unused icon list), and then close KAlarm pop-up.

Do I understand you correctly here?
The problem happened without KAlarm, but running KAlarm, clicking on its icon
and closing it again "fixes" the problem?

And the problem only happens when you plug in a media device?
Or otherwise too?

I'm sorry I don't know the KDE roadmap or what Plasma-5 means to a KDE
desktop.

Plasma5 is the next/current generation of the KDE Desktop (which is named
"Plasma" since 4.0). 5.0 has been released nearly two years ago, and Plasma5 is
the only KDE desktop we ship and support in current openSUSE versions (i.e.
newer as 13.2, which still came with the KDE4 desktop, Plasma1).

KDE stopped supporting the KDE4 desktop last August. Plasma5 is currently the
only maintained/supported KDE desktop.

I won't know if this is still an issue on KDE-5 until I upgrade.

Well, then let's keep it open for now.
But as mentioned, I cannot reproduce this on my 13.2 system (and couldn't on
13.1 back then), neither with KDE4 nor Plasma5.
But then, I'm actually not using Auto-Hide normally.
