I have been trying to play a .MKV video fail in multiple video players and the
all fail to play it.

When trying to play the file using MPV, MPV refuses to open.

When trying to play the file using Totem, Totem opens then displays the
following error: "An error occured Can't play a text file without video or
visualizations".

Here is the output from when trying to play the file with VLC from the CLI:
---

I believe the latest update which updated gstreamer caused this problem as
after the update I tried to watch a twitch.tv stream using livestreamer/MPV and
MPV wouldn't open. I originally thought this was a problem to do with
twitch.tv/livestreamer but not being able to play a .MKV file proves that it is
a problem with my system after the update.
