I added 2 attachments from /var/log/messages: first when apper is running in usermode, second comes up, when I start apper as SU. This has an error message. So it can probably be helpfull for debugging.

I don't get those PackageKit-CRITICAL messages here on 13.2 with PK 1.0.3 when I encounter the problem. So they are probably not related unfortunately and won't help for debugging I think.

Although those don't sound good either...
