http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=913594 Bug ID: 913594 Summary: Numlock light turns off whenever I enter a password Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Distribution Version: 13.2 Hardware: i686 OS: openSUSE 13.2 Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: Security Assignee: security-team@suse.de Reporter: dcm.bugrep@gmail.com QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Hello. My numlock key flicks off when I first log in and whenever I change passwords. It happens on both desktop and inside google chrome browser. This has been going on for quite a while. It was first reported to the opensuse hardware forums. https://forums.opensuse.org/showthread.php/498812-Bug-or-Hacker-with-Mouse. I have tried everything to resolve this including applying a gdb trap for the various pinentry routines but caught nothing. I am a windows c/c++ software developer so I have experience with event trapping and I will try to trap the syscall for numlock change. But also, I experimented with using openBSD because of security concerns (openssl not updated since 2013). However, after getting it configured I woke up in the morning to find the power light on the cpu was off, but the numlock light was on. I had wake-on-lan turned off in bios as well but somehow .... In a previous job I was an accounts manager to electrical engineering department at a local university and there was more than one time my jaw hit the floor with what they could do with logic/circuit analyzers and a soldering gun, so virtually *anything* is possible. I have also worked for company that did some work for 5-sided building in Washington so I may be a target. Any help is appreciated.
