The udev rules in libgphoto2 are replaced by the hwdb database/rules.
Okay, if that is so, they are not working as expected. That is, the generic PTP entry does not do the job.
Neither are "group video" or "Mode 666" correct here, this is all handled by acls these days.
Fair enough. Actually, all that I'm trying to illustrate is that I need to generate a rules file containing at least the following # udev rules file for libgphoto2 devices (for udev 175 version) # Created from this library: # libgphoto2 2.5.2.1 all camlibs, gcc, ltdl, EXIF # libgphoto2_port 0.10.0 gcc, ltdl, USB, serial lockdev locking # # this file is autogenerated, local changes will be LOST on upgrades ACTION!="add", GOTO="libgphoto2_rules_end" SUBSYSTEM!="usb", GOTO="libgphoto2_usb_end" ENV{DEVTYPE}!="usb_device", GOTO="libgphoto2_usb_end" ENV{ID_USB_INTERFACES}=="", IMPORT{builtin}="usb_id" ENV{ID_USB_INTERFACES}=="*:08*:*", GOTO="libgphoto2_usb_end" ENV{ID_USB_INTERFACES}=="*:060101:*", ENV{ID_GPHOTO2}="1", ENV{GPHOTO2_DRIVER}="PTP", MODE="0666", GROUP="video", GOTO="libgphoto2_usb_end" LABEL="libgphoto2_usb_end" LABEL="libgphoto2_rules_end"
What exaxctly is the symptom you see / not see?
The KDE notifier (and solid-hardware listen) do not pick up the PTP camera, unless I have the rule above present. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
