Did you ever run 'grub2-install /dev/sda' prior to upgrade ? In package update, bootloader will be installed to the location configured and managed by yast2 bootloader, which's the partition boot record in this case. But if you ever ran 'grub2-install /dev/sda' manually to install grub2 boot.img and core.img to mbr and mbr gap respectively, the boot path is therefore controlled by it and the package upgrade WILL NOT update both images as they were not managed location by yast and perl bootloader. That is core.img will stay at obsoleted version and when booting it will have to load modules of newer version (in /boot/grub2/i386-pc/*) and finally the "symbol 'grub_term_highlight_color' not found:" blasted. I could reproduce exact same error by installing 12.3 image using the setup I described in comment #10 with one additional step, that is running 'grub2-install /dev/sda', prior to upgrade. Would you please check your mbr by "hexdump -C /dev/sda -n 2048" to see if has grub2 installed ? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
