https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=851887 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=851887#c0 Summary: Missing Libraries for /usr/lib64/firefox/plugin-container Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.3 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 13.1 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Firefox AssignedTo: bnc-team-mozilla@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: delder@novacoast.com QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:25.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/25.0 I found that Firefox would hang under OpenSUSE 12.3 and now 13.1 due to missing libraries needed by /usr/lib64/firefox/plugin-container: delder:~ # ldd /usr/lib64/firefox/plugin-container linux-vdso.so.1 (0x00007fffaf5fe000) libxul.so => not found libstdc++.so.6 => /usr/lib64/libstdc++.so.6 (0x00007f679ea98000) libm.so.6 => /lib64/libm.so.6 (0x00007f679e795000) libpthread.so.0 => /lib64/libpthread.so.0 (0x00007f679e577000) libc.so.6 => /lib64/libc.so.6 (0x00007f679e1c8000) /lib64/ld-linux-x86-64.so.2 (0x00007f679eda0000) libgcc_s.so.1 => /lib64/libgcc_s.so.1 (0x00007f679dfb1000) .... This would happen with java, flash, and friends. A quick and dirty workaround was to link them from /usr/lib64/firefox/: ln -s /usr/lib64/firefox/libxul.so /usr/lib64/libxul.so ln -s /usr/lib64/firefox/libmozsqlite3.so /usr/lib64/libmozsqlite3.so ln -s /usr/lib64/firefox/libmozalloc.so /usr/lib64/libmozalloc.so After that, java and flash work and Firefox no longer freezes. This is likely related (if not identical) to https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=847082 . Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Launch Firefox 2. Visit a page with flash or java 3. Actual Results: Browser hangs and console error is: /usr/lib64/firefox/plugin-container: error while loading shared libraries: libxul.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory Expected Results: Working browser -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
