FYI:
"sane-find-scanner" usually cannot detect scanners in HP all-in-one devices
because usually the scanner unit in a HP all-in-one device does not
show up at the USB as separated USB device as usual USB scanners do,
instead the scanner unit in a HP all-in-one device is somehow
hidden behind the printing unit (i.e. what shows up at the USB
is only a printer).
To detect the scanner unit in a HP all-in-one device you need to run
HP's own special tool "hp-probe" that is provided in HPLIP.
The YaST scanner module runs both "sane-find-scanner" and "hp-probe"
via /usr/lib/YaST2/bin/autodetect_scanners
For using a scanner it does not matter whether or not it is detected
by this or that scanner detection tool. For using the scanner it only
matters whether or not the actual scanner driver (the so called
SANE backend) can correctly communicate with the device.
See

and
bnc#840445 therein in particular the section "Regarding YaST
scanner setup and 'sane-find-scanner' versus 'scanimage -L':" in
