https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=851261 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=851261#c0 Summary: The installation routine cannot properly detect or mount my HDD Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 13.1 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 13.1 Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: q3@arachnoid.com QAContact: jsrain@suse.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/32.0.1700.14 Safari/537.36 Installing the 64-bit version of OpenSuse 13.1 on a Dell laptop (Dell Precision M6600). The installation routine was unable to read the contents of my HDD to allow an upgrade, so I elected to undergo a new installation. After I created a manual configuration, the installation routine formatted my drive, then announced that it was missing a library required to detect or mount any of its partitions. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Acquire the x86-64 OpenSUSE 13.1 installation DVD (openSUSE-13.1-DVD-x86_64.iso with MD5 1096c9c67fc8a67a94a32d04a15e909d) 2. Commence installation procedure. 3. Note that the installation routine cannot read or mount your HDD for either installation possibility (new or upgrade). It can format a drive just fine, but than it can't either mount or read it. Actual Results: See item (3) above. Expected Results: Successful installation, either new or upgrade. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
