Summary: Adapt the actual ip-address of the DSL-device in
accordance to the settings of the network card
Classification: openSUSE
Product: openSUSE 12.3
Version: Final
Platform: Other
OS/Version: Other
Status: NEW
Severity: Normal
Priority: P5 - None
Component: YaST2
AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:20.0) Gecko/20100101
Firefox/20.0

When installing a DSL-interface a network interface to be used is shown. In my
case this might be
RTL8101 Fast Ethernet Controller - 192.168.0.33

Below a greyed-out checkbox shows "Server name oder IP-Adresse" to 10.0.0.138
what must fail as the networks do not match by any means - if you configure the
ethernet controller to 192.168.0.33/24 he will never be able to connect to the
"Server name". Why not simply use the address that had been read from the
ethernet-controller and increase the last value by one (10, 100, whatever is
appropriate) in order to ensure that the netmask won't prevent communication to
work?

Thank you for looking into this,
take care
