Steffen, its the same bug since years, see also bnc#591700. menu.lst always has
the 'root' entry wrong (hd1 instead of hd0)

/dev/disk/by-id/ata-SAMSUNG_HD103SJ_S246J9BB146326-part1 is the boot disk.

Btw, changing /etc/grub.conf to
setup --stage2=/boot/grub/stage2 --force-lba (hd0) (hd0,0)
did not help. Neither did re-creating the bootloader with YaST change anything.

The question is also what did 'zypper dup' change that makes my system
unbootable ?
