--- Comment #24 from Frans Leerink 2013-11-03 23:02:07 UTC ---
Hallo again,
I tried to install opensuse/kde 13.1 RC2 on the same machine with both / and
home partition reformatted.
The initial problem is still present, the system hangs in the step "check
installation-Initializing-Preparing initial system configuration" the system
hangs (permanently). Finally I pressed the power button. I restarted the system
after 5 minutes but the same problem occurred. It also tried to restart after a
half hour but the same problem happened again.
Only if I restarted in rescue mode the system succeded to start up. This time
the system shutdown completely (bug 818987)
I logged in again - normal mode - and tried to configure with yast the wireless
network card with a fixed IP address. Unfortunately the system hangs in the
step - Scan network, so i could select the network wanted. I powered off and
restarted the system and retried to make the same wireless network
configuration resulting in the same hang. I have tried it once more, after I
had controlled the currently selected network service (network.service) and I
started the network service (systemctl start network.service), with exactly the
same problem. In RC1 this network card worked normally and also in 12.3.
Should I report this as a seperate problem?
The network card is a Realtek Semi Conductor RTL8185 ieee802.11 a,b,g Wireless
LAN Controller wlp0s7 with RTL8180 KERNEL DRIVER IN USE, AS WELL AS KERNEL
MODULE
Regards, Frans
