Since the openSUSE-13.1-Non-Oss acroread version was not available, I tried
installing (with YaST) the AdbeRdr9.5.5-1_i486linux_enu.rpm from the Adobe
site. Bad idea. It has the behavior reported in
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=725271. The fix there of removing
two files did not work for me. Also, YaST cannot uninstall it. YaST hangs at
5%. Killing YaST leaves a gtk-update process running near 100%. One instance of
gtk-update will quit, but another with a new PID immediately appears, still at
high CPU %. I had to reboot to get rid of that.
System is a fresh installation of 32-bit 13.1 RC2 KDE on a ThinkPad X41 (BIOS
type).
