I try with cheese - I get error in cheese reading "There was an error playing
video from the webcam". In the terminal I get:

The hardware for this test is virtual (the webcam is real, of course, connected
to the virtual machine). I have tested this on several releases, it does not
work. However, I have seen it working in skype and google talk (doing so blocks
the kernel support and forces reboot to test again). I may be able to test this
on the real host when possible, at worst when I upgrade host 12.3 to 13.1
