https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=827774 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=827774#c0 Summary: Slow 2d and flash video with fglrx and OpenSUSE kernel Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.3 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 12.3 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel AssignedTo: kernel-maintainers@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: gustavo.leal@yahoo.com.br QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.32 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/27.0.1425.0 Safari/537.32 SUSE/27.0.1425.0 Disabling KDE desktop effects when using fglrx AMD proprietary driver and OpenSUSE kernel leads to slow screen drawing. Flash video frames rendering is very slow. Looks like hardware acceleration is disabled for 2D graphics. I can reproduce the bug using fglrx from AMD site and from geeko.ioda.net repository. The problem disappears when vanilla kernel is used. With desktop effects turned on (OpenGL and XRender) the problem also does not occur. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install fglrx AMD proprietary driver 2. Disable KDE desktop effects 3. Start flash video or minimize/maximize any window Actual Results: Slow 2d rendering. Flash videos are very slow. Seems like hardware acceleration is not enabled. Expected Results: Fast 2D rendering. Using default OpenSUSE theme. AMD C-50 APU. OpenSUSE 12.3 x64. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
