https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=824647 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=824647#c0 Summary: Power indicator does not update the status. acpi shows the AC adaptor is connected and icon tray does not Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.3 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 12.3 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: pablo.caron@gmail.com QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/27.0.1453.110 Safari/537.36 I bought a Samsung Ultrabook (Series 5) and installed openSUSE 12.3. Everything worked out of the box but the battery monitor. When the computer is unplugged and the monitor shows less than 100% battery left it does not detect when I plug in the AC adaptor. Besides of that, it shows battery status as "Discharging". When the computer is plugged in and the battery gets fully charged, the monitor does not detect when I plug in/out the AC adaptor neither shows battery status as "Discharging". The monitor get stuck in 100% and if you are not aware of that the battery can get empty and the machine turn off suddenly The command "acpi -V" showed the right information about the AC adaptor status, although wrong about the charging/discharging status. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Turn on the computer 2. See the battery icon in the KDE system tray 3. Plug in the AC adaptor 4. See the battery icon in the KDE system tray I saw similar bugs reported in other distros https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/acpi/+bug/971061 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=896747 -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
