This has been bugging me for several months now and I finally got annoyed
enough to investigate it a little bit.

HAL is being used to retrieve a number of system unique identifiers by a
library the flashplayer seems to download from the internet when playing back
drm'd content. [libadobecp....]

Tracing execution against a working hal installation allowed me to cobble
together this - it's by no means perfect but it does remove the dependency on
HAL.

Tested on openSUSE 12.2 so far.
