I don't know aphofis.com.

But in the SUSE system, there are several databases to recognize files:

/etc/mime.types+/etc/mailcap: Way used widely in past, now deprecated.
mime.types defines relation between file extension and MIME type, mailcap
defines relation between MIME type and applications to open.

/usr/share/misc/magic(.mgc)+/etc/magic: magic(5) database used by file(1)
utility. It supports both file name based recognition and file contents based
recognition. There is no support for assigning applications.

Shared MIME Info: /usr/share/mime: The modern way to recognize MIME types. It
supports both file name based recognition and file contents based recognition.
It does not support direct assigning of applications, it uses a separate
mechanism: it is part of a desktop file and defaults.list.

Status of DRPM support:

mime.types: No support for .drpm. Only .rpm.

magic/file: Delta RPM pattern exists in the database, but .drpm files are
recognized incorrectly. Recognized as:
RPM v3.0 bin i386/x86_64

Shared MIME Info: .drpm file extension is not in the database. File is
recognized as application/x-rpm.
