This was the fstab entry: //10.0.1.44/data /T cifs sec=ntlmv2,user=xyz,pass=asdf,noperm,dir_mode=0777,rw 0 0 The /var/log/messages file shows: Aug 27 13:25:56 tiger3-64bit kernel: [ 9040.272188] CIFS VFS: bad security option: ntlmv2 Removing "sec=ntlvm2," makes it work. I don't know if that is a bug, or if ntlmv2 support has truly been dropped. I'm running the latest 12.2 kernel.
