On Fedora 17, my wireless card is not detected by default. I have to install the following package from the RPM fusion free repository: "iwl2030-firmware". After installing the aforementioned package, the wireless card works perfectly. On OpenSUSE 12.1, I have the same problem. Unlike in fedora however, it cannot be resolved that easily. I could not find the "iwl2030-fimware" package in any opensuse repository - free/nonfree/community repositories. After not finding the package anywhere I even tried downloading it from the Fedora's RPM fusion free repository hoping that it may install well on OpenSUSE. To my surprise, the package installed without any problems. However after rebooting my system, the wireless card is still not detected.
